Cardio Valve represents a significant advancement in the field of echocardiography, designed specifically to assist professionals in evaluating the functionality of implanted prosthetic cardiac valves. This mobile application equips users with comprehensive guidelines to assess existing prostheses (Check Prosthesis) as well as to determine the most suitable valve prior to implantation (Optimal Prosthesis).

The algorithms underpinning Cardio Valve have been meticulously developed following extensive research into the literature surrounding aortic and mitral prosthetic valve assessment, ensuring a robust and evidence-based approach.

• Check Prosthesis
  Upon selecting a specific valve type and entering pertinent patient characteristics, such as weight and height, along with the actual parameters of the prosthesis—including peak velocity, mean gradient, VTI prosthesis, VTI LVOT, and LVOT diameter—Cardio Valve offers insights into the valve's normal functionality. The application also assesses the potential for patient-prosthesis mismatch or intrinsic prosthetic dysfunction.
• Optimal Prosthesis
  For optimal valve selection, users are prompted to specify the valve position (aortic or mitral) along with patient characteristics. Cardio Valve then swiftly calculates and indicates the minimum Effective Orifice Area (EOA) necessary to prevent Patient-Prosthesis Mismatch (PPM).
